Iconic Models from Nissan

Nissan has spent a lot of time pushing the boundaries of the automotive industry, and the results are pretty clear. Over the years, the automaker has created vehicles that not only performed well, but that also changed the industry at large. These iconic models are ingrained in the history of the car community and continue to spark interest years later. The team here at Hall Nissan Virginia Beach has put together some of our favorite Nissan vehicles throughout the years to celebrate how far the brand has come.
S30 Datsun 240Z
Japanese muscle car enthusiasts are probably familiar with this one. Under the Datsun nameplate, Nissan introduced the Z-Car that would eventually pave the way for the 370Z®. The 240z was introduced in 1971, with a 4-speed manual transmission and a single-cam six-cylinder engine. It produced 150 horsepower and 148 pound-feet of torque and the base model retailed for just $3,626. Today, it’s difficult to find one for that price, as the chassis cemented itself as a true Japanese classic.
R32 Skyline GT-R
Though this model was never officially sold in the United States by Nissan, since passing its 25th birthday (the year a car becomes vintage), many enthusiasts have begun importing the R32 GT-R to America. This chassis defined what we now know as the GT-R. With a six-cylinder turbocharged engine, all-wheel-drive, and automotive technology that was ahead of its time, the R32 quickly became a cult classic, both on and off the race track. It produced 276 horsepower and is the chassis that was first dubbed “Godzilla.”
LEAF®
Determined to always stay ahead of the latest automotive trends and technology, Nissan has created its next iconic vehicle, the Nissan LEAF®. This fully-electric hatchback has a range of up to 226 miles,* and features some of the most impressive driver assistance technology available. Thanks to Nissan Intelligent Mobility, standard safety just got even better, with Automatic Emergency Braking, as well as other available options like Blind Spot Warning and Rear Cross Traffic Alert. Infotainment technology options like Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ give you the best in connectivity for the most fun you can have on the road.
Today, Nissan is one of the largest car manufacturers in the world and continues to create vehicles that push the industry to the next level.
