2023 Nissan Z®

Overview

Legends never die and the 2023 Nissan Z is no exception. The latest re-imagining of the marque’s fabled sports coupe remains true to its storied heritage, delivering excellent performance with amazing looks to match. Despite drawing much of its inspiration from previous Z cars, the new Nissan Z remains as modern as ever. Retro-inspired LEDs front and rear pay homage to the 240Z and 300ZX, respectively, while delivering modern visibility. The wide front grille and iconic fastback profile leave no question as to where the 2023 Z comes from. Available two-tone exterior paint only adds to the Z’s aggressive looks. You’ll find the new Z in Sport and Performance trim levels.

The Perfect Ride For…

Diehard Z car fans, as well as any sports car enthusiast on the hunt for a thrilling drive. The completely revamped interior is a driver’s delight with most controls designed with the driver in mind. Supportive leather-appointed performance seats with synthetic suede inserts and ample bolstering help keep front passengers in place on spirited jaunts. Even the steering wheel takes its inspiration from another famous sports car in the Nissan stable, the GT-R. The triple pod cluster provides turbo boost, turbine speed, and voltage info to complement the already-comprehensive digital dashboard. The center stack features a standard 8-inch or optional 9-inch touchscreen display for audio and available navigation, with climate control switches located underneath.

Drive and Handling

At the heart of the 2023 Nissan Z is a twin-turbocharged 3.0L V6 engine, which features all-aluminum alloy construction and a water-cooler intercooler for better performance and endurance. The end result is 400 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque sent to the rear wheels and managed by your choice of a 6-speed close-ratio manual transmission or an optional 9-speed automatic transmission. The manual transmission comes with a high-performance clutch from EXEDY, along with a carbon-fiber composite drive shaft and a SynchroRev Match feature. The Z Performance trim adds more high-performance goodies, including a rear spoiler, 19-inch RAYS forged aluminum-alloy wheels, and a mechanical clutch-type limited-slip differential.

Nissan paid close attention to the 2023 Nissan Z’s handling with tweaks to the sports car’s front double-wishbone and rear multi-link suspension. Both ends of the Z benefit from a revamped monotube shock absorber design, along with changes in suspension geometry for greater straight-line stability. Both Sport and Performance trims come equipped with a two-point front strut tower brace.

Key Features

Selectable Screens

The Z’s 12.3-inch digital dashboard lets you choose between three selectable screens, including a Sport Mode screen designed with the help of famed Super GT racer Tsugio Matsuda. Sport Mode places the tachometer front and center with a shift light placed in the driver’s line of sight. You can also toggle between a boost gauge and G meter for added performance information.

Z Proto Spec

The 2023 Nissan Z also comes available in the limited-edition Z Proto Spec. This unique Z variant features a two-tone Ikazuchi Yellow Pearl TriCoat and black exterior, 19-inch bronze forged alloy wheels, and yellow brake calipers. Inside, the Z Proto Spec adds yellow interior accents throughout the cabin, including yellow stitching and side bolster accents on the seats.

Launch Control

The 2023 Nissan Z is also the first in the Z car lineage to offer launch control. When activated, this available feature holds revs at a pre-set RPM and modulates power on acceleration, thus eliminating wheel spin and wheel hop for the quickest and most consistent acceleration runs. This feature definitely comes in handy if you happen to be at the drag strip, where tenths of a second count.
