Welcome to the Revolution
Well into the electric vehicle revolution, it’s no longer an easy task to impress consumers. Nissan has proven it’s up to the challenge with the innovative 2020 LEAF®. This latest generation all-electric compact car represents the latest paradigm of modern battery-powered mobility. Not only is it the world’s best selling electric car, but it’s offered at an attractive starting price that makes it easy for anyone to join the revolution.
Whether you want to go all-electric to cut costs at the pump or you just want to impress onlookers with the most advanced cutting-edge compact car on the road, the 2020 Nissan LEAF delivers. For a starting MSRP of just $31,600,1 you can get in on this no gas, no emissions, all thrills, all frills experience from Nissan. And don’t forget that a qualified Nissan LEAF can also open the door for you to save thousands of dollars on potential Federal tax credits for purchasing a new all-electric vehicle.2
All-Electric Power
Available in three exceedingly impressive trim levels, the Nissan LEAF uses a 110 kW AC synchronous electric motor to provide 147 horsepower and 236 lb-ft of torque, as much as a typical 4-cylinder gas engine in a similarly sized compact. The centrally-located 40 kWh lithium-ion battery provides excellent center-of-gravity, which you will notice when hugging curves like a rally car. The LEAF doesn’t use a drop of gas, but its Miles per Gallon-equivalent (MPGe) is 124 MPGe in the city and 99 MPGe on the highway.3 Imagine that.
The battery can charge itself using regenerative braking. Not only does this save energy that would have otherwise been lost when slowing or stopping the vehicle; it also takes most of the brunt of the stopping force, tremendously extending the life of your brake pads. Of course, drivers can also recharge the LEAF with a direct connection to a plug-in charge cable, either using the 120V portable trickle-charge cable or the 240V wall charger installed at home. You can find many 480V public quick-charge ports offered for free in urban areas across the country (you can always find the nearest charging stations using the LEAF’s touchscreen, pictured below). Pull up, plug in, and monitor charge status easily with a free app on your paired smartphone. On a full charge, the 2020 LEAF can travel as far as 226 miles, on the S Plus trim.3
Nissan Intelligent Mobility
For decades, Nissan has built a reputation for making some of the most technologically advanced cars in the world. Keeping its seat on the leading edge of automotive engineering, this automaker offers a new concept for the new century: Nissan Intelligent Mobility™. While the idea of packing the most state-of-the-art performance and safety technology all under one hood sounds straightforward, the reality is a monumental feat only Nissan can tackle.
Intelligent Mobility means offering the Nissan-exclusive ProPILOT Assist suite of active and passive safety features that will accelerate your drive into the 21st Century. This means you’ll enjoy features like Automatic Emergency Braking (which uses external sensors to detect hazards in the road and alert the driver or even autonomously apply the brakes before the driver has time to think), Intelligent Cruise Control (which can accelerate or brake all on its own to maintain a set interval with the car ahead while cruising in traffic), or High Beam Assist (which automatically switches from high to low beams when it senses oncoming traffic), just to name a few.
Intelligent Mobility also means some of the most advanced battery technology to accompany your 100% electric powertrain. Enjoy the rush of instant torque as you immediately access all of the LEAF’s power without using a drop of gas, without producing an ounce of CO2 emissions, and without producing a ton of engine noise. Plus, this generation LEAF introduces a new concept from Nissan: the E-Pedal. With the flip of a switch, drivers can activate the E-Pedal feature that allows accelerating and braking all through the gas pedal alone. Not only does it help use the battery more efficiently, it’s also kinda fun.
Finally, Intelligent Mobility means infotainment and connectivity options like never before. The 2020 Nissan LEAF offers seamless smartphone integration through a wireless connection via Bluetooth® or a wired connection via Apple CarPlay™, Android Auto™, or standard USB port. Control it all effortlessly with voice commands, integrated steering wheel controls, or the available vivid 8-inch color touchscreen. With the new LEAF, even the sound gets smart. The available Bose® Energy Efficient Premium Audio System provides concert-quality sound through seven top-tier speakers that are designed to save power without sacrificing sound quality.
Alternative Options
If you’re not quite ready for the electric vehicle revolution, Nissan offers another compact car with modern tech and admirable efficiency at a reasonable price. The Nissan Versa® Sedan still returns great fuel economy and offers the latest in Nissan automotive engineering. If you need a little more utility in your mobility, the Nissan Rogue® offers one of the most comprehensive packages for SUVs on the market today.
