The newest Nissan Altima is available only as a four-door, five-seat midsize sedan. There are five available trim levels, priced starting from $24,100.*
Drive & Handling
The 2020 Nissan Altima is available with two powertrain options. Whether you want thriftiness or fleetness, Nissan has you covered. The standard offering is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder with up to 188 horsepower and 180 pound-feet of torque. This engine can send power to just the front wheels or to all four, using Nissan’s intelligent all-wheel-drive. There’s also an optional all-new variable compression turbo engine. This innovative four-cylinder engine makes 236 horsepower and 267 pound-feet of torque available with a front-wheel-drive power delivery.
With the return of Nissan’s Xtronic CVT® (Continuously Variable Transmission) and the option for paddle shifters with manual mode, the Altima boasts impressive fuel economy. Official EPA fuel economy for 2.5-liter models can reach up to 32 mpg combined (28 city/39 highway), while four-cylinder VC-Turbo models return an EPA-estimated 29 mpg combined (25 city/34 highway).**
Features and Trims
The Altima S includes an 8-way power-adjustable driver seat, an 8.0-inch NissanConnect® touchscreen, Android Auto® and Apple CarPlay®, remote engine start, advanced drive-assist® display, Bluetooth®, USB and USB-C ports, and hands-free text messaging assistant.
The Altima SR has a sportier attitude with performance and cosmetic upgrades, along with some convenience features like sport seats and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. The Altima SV features a bit more luxury in the form of a power sliding glass moonroof, LED fog lights, and dual-zone automatic temperature control.
The Altima SL adds leather-appointed seats, a nine-speaker Bose® premium audio system, and Nissan Door to Door Navigation with Premium Traffic. The Platinum trim sits at the top of the lineup, offering a wealth of standard features including interior accent lighting, driver’s memory seat, and an Intelligent Around View® monitor.
Safety
Standard safety equipment on the 2020 Nissan Altima includes anti-lock brakes, Vehicle Dynamic Control, traction control, and a full complement of airbags. Nissan Intelligent Mobility takes safety a step further, with technologies like automatic emergency braking, rear cross traffic alert, blind spot warning, lane departure warning, and intelligent lane intervention. Available Nissan ProPILOT Assist keeps your car in the center of the lane, even through gentle turns, and maintains a safe driving distance, so that you can focus on the road.
