Nissan Expands its SUV Lineup with New Rogue Sport

Nissan hopes to appeal to a new audience

A new model is joining the popular Nissan Rogue family this spring. The Rogue enjoyed huge success last year, not only becoming Nissan’s sales leader but also breaking its all-time single-month record. The 2017 Rogue Sport expands the lineup with a “right sized” new variant featuring a standard 141 horsepower 2.0-liter DOHC inline 4-cylinder Direct Injection Gasoline System engine and Xtronic® transmission.

The new Rogue Sport should attract drivers who wouldn’t necessarily seek out an SUV, including singles, couples with no children, and empty nesters, with its sporty design and impressive versatility.

Easier maneuverability

The wheelbase on the new Rogue Sport is 2.3 inches shorter and the overall length is 12.1 inches shorter than the standard Rogue. This should help ensure the new model's maneuverability in city traffic and make it easier to park. The shorter length also results in less cargo room, but still leaves an ample 61.1 cubic feet of cargo space with the second-row seat folded down.

Divide-N-Hide® Cargo System

Like the Rogue, the new Rogue Sport will offer the available Divide-N-Hide Cargo System® with its under-floor storage compartment. This lets you put extra gear or valuable items out of sight while the removable lid makes it easy to use.

Around View® Monitor with Moving Object Detection

Backing up and parking can be challenging in an SUV. That’s why Nissan developed the Around View® Monitor with Moving Object Detection, available in the Rogue Sport. This innovative system has four cameras, giving you a virtually 360-degree view with split-screen close-ups of the front, rear, and curbside views of your vehicle.

Nissan Intelligent Safety Shield technologies

Nissan offers a suite of available advanced systems designed to look out for you when you’re behind the wheel. Forward Emergency Braking with Pedestrian detection provides a warning when a pedestrian is in front of you and is even capable of applying the brakes when necessary. Blind Spot Warning detects a vehicle in your blind spot and sends you a warning in the driver’s or front passenger’s door, and Lane Departure Warning and Lane Departure Prevention alerts you when you start to drift from your lane and will gently guide you back.

These are just of few of the new features you can look forward to on the all-new 2017 Rogue Sport. Look for it at Hall Nissan Virginia Beach.
