With refined styling, the latest tech features, and a surprisingly large amount of room for a compact car, the 2017 Versa® sedan is a compelling entry into the compact sedan category. The Versa provides a comfortable, spacious, and affordable drive, complete with a wide array of available amenities.

The 2017 Nissan Versa is a four-door, five-seat compact sedan. It’s offered in four trim levels (S, S Plus, SV, and SL), priced starting from an incredible $11,990.* The standard Versa S includes highlights such as a four-speaker surround system with a CD player, steering wheel audio controls, and a Bluetooth® hands-free phone system. The top-of-the-line Versa SL boasts such innovations as a navigation system, a rearview camera, and an audio system with a five-inch color display.

The Perfect Ride for…

Budget-conscious drivers who desire good fuel economy, a smooth ride, a large cargo area, and space to stretch your legs. The Versa provides maximum interior room at a minimum price and doesn't compromise on convenience and comfort. The Versa even won the Subcompact Car Category of the 2016 Kelley Blue Book® 5-Year Cost to Own Awards.

Drive & Handling

The 2017 Versa is powered by a 1.6-liter DOHC 16-valve, 4-cylinder engine, which achieves 109 horsepower and 107 pound-feet of torque. A five-speed manual transmission comes standard on the baseline S model, with a four-speed automatic option. All other trim levels come standard with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT).

The EPA-estimated fuel economy of the five-speed manual is 30 mpg combined (27 mpg city/36 mpg highway), while the CVT automatic stands at an even better 35 mpg combined (31 mpg city/39 mpg highway).** Those are excellent fuel economy ratings that are sure to please just about any consumer.

Key Features

Convenient Storage

The Versa's trunk comes with 14.9 cubic feet of room, allowing drivers to cart along their cargo easily. And you can opt for even more space if needed with the 60/40-split fold-down rear seat. A huge pass-through means that toting tall and wide items is a breeze. Should you need more space, there are convenient pockets located on the door panels, which allow for smaller items to be stored.

NissanConnect℠ with Navigation and Mobile Apps

Tech-minded drivers will appreciate available innovative features such as hands-free phone capability, streaming audio, a 5.8-inch color display, SiriusXM® Traffic and SiriusXM® Travel Link®, and enhanced Voice Recognition. Designed to reduce distractions, the NissanConnect℠ system helps make every drive effortless. It will point you where you need to go and keep you connected the whole way there.

Alternative Options

If the Versa isn't roomy enough, the 2017 Nissan Rogue® may be the perfect fit. This SUV offers generous interior space, a few engine options (including a hybrid version), and restrained styling that is both modern and timeless. For a compact car with a more sustainable footprint, you can opt for the Nissan LEAF® which is 100% electric, meaning no more gas station fill-ups (talk about budget-friendly!). The small vehicle is reliable, stylish, comfortable, and easy to maneuver around tight spots.
